Just consider a scenario that you installed an app from Microsoft Store on your Windows 10. Then you can also try to launch the newly added app, however, you can’t. As when the app is initializing, you guys received the following message:

Upon doing some research, we actually came to the conclusion that the above error occurs due to a lack of permissions in the parent folder actually. In this case, the parent folder is the WindowsApps folder and its location is C:\Program Files\WindowsApps. That assumes Windows is installed on C: drive. Whenever you guys download the app, its installation files are inside the application folder are downloaded under the WindowsApps folder. However, because the WindowsApps folder lacks permission, the app would not complete the installation at all.

In order to fix this issue, you have to move the application folder outside of the WindowsApps folder. And then run the mentioned executable file in the error message actually. Here are some of the steps involved here to make “the specified user does not have a valid profile” remove:

  • Press Windows + E to open File Explorer and then navigate to C:\Program Files\WindowsApps folder.
  • Take ownership of the WindowsApps folder, else you guys won’t be able in order to open it.
  • Under the WindowsApps folder, move the app folder, for which you guys are getting error message. The error message basically mentions the name of the folder, so you guys can get it from there. You can move the folder to DocumentsDesktop, or also any other library. The below screenshot is basically for representation only, the actual app would be really different in your case.
